American Culture Seminar
Saturday, December 20, 2008 RnD (Research and Development Division) had successfully held a seminar entitled “Talk show: American Culture”. It was a cool seminar that was started at 09.30 a.m. until 11.30 a.m, in the fourth building of FSSR, UNS.
Additionally, the committees invited Mr. Taufiq Al-Makmun and also Ms. Angela Brown to be the speakers in that seminar. Both of them presented very informative and also entertaining presentations about American culture. The core agendas of that seminar were divided into 2 sessions. The first session was a presentation of Mr. Taufiq Al-Makmun, his presentation was about American Culture and Values; Shaped by American Experience. Mr. Taufiq explained some topics about The First Americans, The Colonies, Independence Day, and The Rise of Hollywood until The Decade of Change. It was a great presentation. Not only that, this big event was still continued by a presentation about American Values, delivered by Ms. Angela Brown. She was so fascinating in sharing her experience about American Values.
In addition, this event was actually designed by the committees as the pinnacle event of ECHO meetings. Frankly speaking, the committees were extremely surprised with the number of unexpected participants who attended that seminar, around 65 participants joined that seminar, some participants even had to sit outside the room because of the limitation of the chairs. Hehehe But of course, they were still spiritful to listen the presentations.
After the presentations ended, there was a question and answer session, so the participants did not only sit and listen to the speaker, but they also had an opportunity to interact with the speakers. Sounded nice, was not it? In the end of the meeting, there were some announcements about awards from the committees and also photo session.
Overall, all of RnD members just can say thank you for all of the assistants and co-assistants of ECHO, the participants of ECHO, and also the committees of seminar for the participations and cooperation in supporting ECHO activities.
Well, we will wait, what other divisions that will give the next surprise for EDCOM?
